Alfred Smith

I travelled an unorthodox path in my dancing/teaching evolution. I trained in my first two years as a Hip Hop/Breakdancer. However, my more poetic spirit pulled me to Denver where I joined Kim Robards Dance. This was the true beginning of my formal technical training. I since moved on to dance for Apex Dance, Colorado School of Dance to dance ballet roles such as Cavalier, Siegfried, and Basilio. Ballet Ariel was the last company I danced for in order to advance my ambition to raise my own dance company and studio, CocooLotus Dance. My contemporary class emphasizes contemporary ballet technique with contemporary modern, and other dance influences sprinkled in. My core dance philosophy is the culture of operating from the sincere heart in movement and relationships amongst artists, while maniacally pursuing excellence in whatever an artist shares.
